Multicultural Collective Kitchen

Group cooking and eating together on the last Thursday of every month 4:30 to 6:30 pm at 40 Cobourg Street. Registration required.

Coffee Time (for tenants of 160 Charlotte Street)

Coffee and conversation on the first Tuesday of every month from 10 to 11:30 am in the 160 Charlotte building communal room.

Volunteer Program

The Volunteer Program aims to develop a volunteer network who can actively contribute to the activities of the LCRC.

Whether to break social isolation and make friends, provide and opportunity to give back to the community, practice speaking English and/or French, complete highschool volunteer hours and gain work experience or participate in meaningful social work, there are volunteer possibilities at the LCRC. This program matches the needs of the volunteers with the needs of the centre.

Lowertown Our Home (LOH)

LOH is a project in partnership with Lowertown residents and community organizations with the objective of preventing crime in the community. The goal is to actively engage the community to identify safety concerns in the neighbourhood, as well as facilitate solutions.

Lowertown Voices CommUNITY

A partnership between Multicultural Arts in Schools and Communities (MASC) and Lowertown Community Resource Centre (LCRC). The aim of this video is to create a platform which allows residents to voice their opinions on safety and security within their community, and showcasing the UNITY within the Lowertown commUNITY.

Winterfest

Winterfest is a community celebration organized by LOH partners that happens annually in Jules Morin Park on Family Day.

 

Action Housing

The agency assists, supports and advocates for disadvantaged individuals and families to find safe, adequate and affordable housing. Issues such as housing emergencies, evictions, discrimination, maintenance and repairs, and illegal rents can be addressed by a housing caseworker.

The Action Housing worker is at the Lowertown Community Resource Centre (located at 40 Cobourg Street) every week on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. To make an appointment, contact Yarlie.
